Ramblings of an Unpublished Man
I have not been published...yet. Unless you count my submissions to both Marvel and DC Comics.
For Marvel, I submitted an entry to their "Name the New Universe" line of comics back in 1986. "Nuke me with the new!" won the top prize, but I am still proud of my entry, "Light my universe!" getting some recognition by being published in the letters page of every New Universe title out that particular month.
As for DC, that is my pride and joy. I wrote a quick letter to Alan Grant as he was writing what is still my favorite series, "Batman: Shadow of the Bat." It seems I had confused him with Alan Moore of "Watchmen" fame and had picked up the book based solely on that misconstrued assumption. I explained this all to Mr. Grant and of course thanked him for bringing Batman to me in a variety of stories that always made the Batman seem more real to me. What he did in return, was to send me a singed original script for an upcoming Batman issue and a note on a piece of paper with his drawn rendition of the Batman signal. Out of all my collection, I love this one single item the most.
All in all, the title says it all...but still, I hope to some day. For now I practice and I wish and I hope.
