Cat Vitamins

Don't know why this popped into my head...Oh wait, I do. My cat was licking my thumb a couple of minutes ago.

So, I was talking to a girl at work who used to work with cats...a lot...and I explained to her how my cat likes to keep me awake at night licking my hands.

It starts with me petting the cat and he starts licking. When I grow tired, I move my hand and that damn cat follows and proceeds to lick it again. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal. Kinda playful. At three in the morning, it's a downright pain in my ass. In order to make him stop, I have to roll my hands up in the sheet like a couple of burritos.

"I've never had a cat this affectionate," I said.

"It's not affection," She said. "They say that means your cat is lacking some kind of mineral in its diet. Probably salt."

That's all fine and dandy. Though I really expected the expensive feed I provide him to cover all dietary minerals needed.

But seriously, the point is, beyond expensive feed, my thumbs, and her expert cat knowledge, the concentration of minerals my cat absorbs out of the toilet water he drinks each day should more than compensate for any minerals he may lack.
